Dr. Susan Craig is a longtime vegan who owns and manages Happy Chihuahua Acres, a Certified Veganic mini-farm and private animal sanctuary in Northern California. She worked as a public school teacher, administrator, and college professor in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years. After losing her home in a wildfire, Susan relocated to a solar-powered, off-grid homestead. She has studied Grow Biointensive sustainable gardening techniques with John Jeavons and grows a variety of food crops on her farm in addition to managing a vegan sanctuary for rescued dogs, cats, and farm animals. Dr. Craig is one of the founding members of the North American Veganic Certification Standard, which provides Veganic Certification to vegan growers worldwide and offers annual grants to vegan growers. She has dedicated her life to promoting non-violent, sustainable living through veganism and veganic growing.
